Mallorca: A great Holiday destination for everyone!
Mallorca is a special island in the Mediterranean Sea. It belongs to Spain but is very independent. The island belongs to the Balearic Islands and is the largest island of this island group. Although the island is not very big, almost a million people live there. At the same time, a lot of tourists visit the island every year. It is a very popular holiday destination in Europe.
For partying youngsters, there is the boulevard El Arenal. This is a wide sandy beach with a kilometre-long entertainment area right by the sea. Every year, thousands of young people from all over Europe come here to party. There are even stretches of the promenade that are designed especially for German, British or Dutch youth. Apart from all the discos, pubs and cafes, there are plenty of activities to be found in this seaside resort. Think for example of the large water park called Aqualand, or the shopping centre. Besides El Arenal, you have the areas Magaluf and Playa de Palma, where you will also find many partygoers.
Despite the fact that the island is known for the entertainment area El Arenal, it is also a paradise for adults and families with children. For example, there are routes you can take by car through the unspoilt nature of Mallorca. There are beautiful viewpoints on high cliffs. In the distance are the yachts of the super-rich, who also like to come to Mallorca. Further inland, it is also much less touristic and you can still find nice restaurants where you can have a fantastic meal for a soft price.
Besides all the beautiful beaches and the many restaurants and nightlife, Mallorca also has beautiful nature and unique sights. An example is the village Fornalutx. This special mountain village is built against a slope and therefore has many beautiful stairs and level differences in the village. Because of this, the village also has great views of the Mallorca mountains. The village is so beautiful that it has already been proclaimed the most beautiful village in Spain.
For lovers of culture there is also plenty to see on Mallorca. This is because the island has been inhabited since ancient times and many different cultures and civilisations have lived on the island. All these civilisations have had an influence on the buildings and sights. The most visited attraction is Mallorca’s great cathedral. It is very impressive and famous all over the world, and is located in the capital of the island, Palma de Mallorca. In addition, there are special caves and caverns to visit, as well as the mountains of Serra de Tramuntana.
The island is larger than most people think. This is sometimes because it is mistaken for Ibiza. This island is much smaller than Mallorca and therefore has less extensive possibilities. On Mallorca there are still villages and beaches that are hardly ever visited by tourists, as well as, for example, large orchards with ancient olive trees.
Mallorca is a wonderful island with endless possibilities for a wonderful holiday. This applies to young people, elderly people, families with children or just single travellers. There are possibilities for everyone to have a nice time. Not least because, whatever you do, the weather on Mallorca is almost always good. Because of its location in the sea, bad weather can quickly disappear. The temperature in summer is around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, with peaks of 35 degrees. In the winter, it is still about 15 degrees outside, which makes it pleasant to spend the winter on the island.
